Theatre in Education Programme
Our outreach education programme is designed to nurture the inquisitive mind, to invite questioning and self-exploration through drama, dance, singing and music.
Through story telling performances and workshops we promote an ‘I can do it’ attitude and become actively engaged with learning. To have a positive impact on young people’s wellbeing, boost confidence, build resilience and develop communication and collaboration skills.
Exploring topical environmental issues and promoting positive health and wellbeing we aspire to deliver subjects in a creative age-appropriate way that inspires children to then continue to explore the topics in more detail.
Interactive Theatre Experience Days
We offer a pre- show meet the cast for those who benefit from this and we always end the show with a musical number that gets the audience joining in.
Through interactive performing arts workshops, we develop confidence and build relationships and connections with peer groups. Creating a set of skills, that transpires into everyday life, including talking to peers and public speaking.
Exploring drama games we work to develop a strong performance persona including characterisation, vocal projection, language and accents and strong body language.
We offer vocal coaching and speech development, including the importance of breath control and facial placement in singing. We delve into the mechanics of storytelling and how to add character and personality to your work.
In dance we develop an understanding of rhythm, self-expression and the confidence to move to the beat. We cover the importance of understanding music, and how to connect with an audience.
In our workshops we have many participant led activities, where young people work in groups, and individually, to explore personal expression and nurture an individual understanding of the performing arts. Our community focused actors specialise in working consciously with young people to bring out each person’s potential and nurture both the individual and the group
Our Interactive theatre day experience offers school the opportunity for two performances in the School day for one inclusive price. This offers small group sittings, which is favored for schools with larger numbers of pupils with special educational needs and for the youngest of audiences. This means that our fees are affordable for many more schools, and where possible we point schools towards local community funding options.
We will transform your school hall or venue into a mobile theatre for the day with our hand painted sets and PA and lighting equipment.
